We asked sculptor Jon Edgar if he could represent what The Cart Shed was about in sculpture form...
Sculptor Jon Edgar will be artist in residence for the first 10 days of Out Of Nature 2017: we asked him if he could represent what The Cart Shed was about in sculpture form.
A piece which would help people instantly recognise the pain the clients endure, and possibly how and why being outdoors in the woods within a safe human environment helps.
Jon has taken his task seriously, delving deep into himself, and quizzing friends about depression and other low feelings.
He very suddenly lost his father in July, bringing about for him the very feelings of grief and loss that some Cart Shed clients experience.
He writes very candidly about his journey towards understanding mental health issues in his blog: https://cartshedsculpture.wordpress.com
He would also welcome any image, metaphor or words associated with depression, schizophrenia, bipolar condition, or other mental health conditions. If you can contribute some, please email him on jon@jonedgar.co.uk – you will be contributing a lot to the ‘Cart Shed sculpture’.
