Stone carver, nature lover, allotment holder, Lottie O’Leary has been working stone for over 30 years, in conservation, then restoration carving and more recently her own work.
She trained initially at City & Guilds Art School in London in sculpture conservation, before joining the National Trust, where she worked on wonderful collections of? sculptures including Egyptian, Ghandharan and some Rysbracks at Stowe ?School.?
She went back to college in Weymouth, studying masonry and carving, after? which she did restoration carving.?For the last 20-odd years she has been working from the Welsh border village of ?Knucklas, carving to commission and doing her own work.

Statement
I love the tactile nature of stone and the tool marks left from working it.?I have tried to use some more hidden parts of this garden, to tickle the senses…water, light and sound. (I am hoping, while writing this in May, that the stream will be flowing in October.)
