Julian Meredith’s work should need no introduction. He has a long and prestigious track record, and his work appears in many public collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, Deutsche Bank and British Telecom, Newcastle. He has received many private and public commissions, and been awarded numerous prizes, including from the Royal Academy and the 1990 Giles Bequest Prize, administered by V & A Museum and British Museum, and in 1990 the John Purcell Print Prize.
I have always had a deep respect for people who live and work in close connection with the natural world. My own work is an extension of my practical knowledge of aspects of the wild. For years I drew flowers, but it wasn’t until I started keeping bees that I began to understand them.
