JON EDGAR b. 1968 A BSc. in Biology and Geography (Exeter, 1990) and MSc. in Landscape Ecology (London, 1992) led to a broad environmental background before studying at The Frink School of Figurative Sculpture from 2000-2002. He exhibited at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 2014 and his large stone carvings are now at public locations at Lewes, Hindhead, and presently on the South Downs at Slindon.
Figurative, organic and landscape references often appear, but increasingly works are coming out of human nature. Many of my works are not preconceived. The improvisation process means blocks are turned over as imagery starts to emerge - in the trust that stronger themes will gradually emerge.
