Graduating from Exeter University in 1990 with a BSc. in Biology and Geography, Jon Edgar went on to complete an MSc. in Landscape Design, Ecology and Management at Wye College in 1991. From 1992 to 2000, he worked on countryside management and landscape projects. He then studied at The Frink School of Figurative Sculpture from 2000-2002, receiving the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust Bursary. Since then he has exhibited widely and received many commissions and awards; his work is in public and private collections both in the UK and abroad.
Many of my works are not preconceived. Improvisation means that blocks will often discover me; they are turned over as imagery starts to emerge in the trust that stronger themes will gradually emerge.
I am a sculptor of the Frink School - figurative, organic and landscape references often appear, but increasingly works are coming out of human nature.
