How do we, as a society, re-use waste? This project involved using large quantities of materials destined to be recycled. These were collected over a period of 12 months by a family of 6 at Newport House. The recycled content of the installation symbolises the process of consumerism and waste, which continues to impact on our earth both above and below ground. The construction has been placed in the dipping pond of the organic walled garden; creating a juxtaposition between the natural environment and the accumulation of waste material. The black and clear plastic wrapping both reflects the proportion of waste items and disguises our personal boundaries and our relationship with waste. We have collectively formed a container for ‘disposal’
