Ed Elliott is an award-winning sculptor specialising in large-scale figurative pieces, often designed with a specific site in mind.
He has received national acclaim for his innovative work in wood. With public pieces in six counties, he is widely recognised for his ambitious sculptures and his striking style. Almost all of his work to date has been exclusively one-off pieces for public and private collections. This year will see the first cold cast bronze sculptures coming out of his studio.
Statement
Sculpture is a language for me and I aim to create a memorable presence with my work. Finding the right environments for sculpture is crucial in finishing many pieces and making them sing. The human form has been at the forefront of my work for many years, although my abstract work is now starting to return. Working figuratively is a very direct way of communicating my ideas. Most people, regardless of nationality or background, can relate to the human form.
