Caro Burberry MRBS is a leading UK sculptor trained at The Frink School. Her sculptures, cast in bronze and iron, are commissioned and exhibited worldwide.
A near-death experience encouraged Caro to make the transition to sculpture 20 years ago. Prior to this she had shown promise as a traditional print artist but just weeks beforehand, Caro discovered her love of working in 3D.
She also discovered a love for working in bronze and the excitement of experimenting with cast iron, meticulously refining forms to create a transient feeling and timeless quality in her finished pieces.
Now living high in the Malvern Hills, Caro works from both her Worcestershire studio and also from the USA. She holds an annual Open Studio exhibition to showcase her year's work.
Statement
“When people ask me what I do I tell them I'm a sculptor. The next question is usually, "What sort of sculpture?" That can be a little hard to describe. For me it’s much more than about creating a decorative piece of work. It’s about expressing reverence for the amazing world in which we live. And capturing quiet, poignant, beautiful moments for you to gaze on time and time again. Its about creating something that impels you to reach out and touch, something that stirs your soul.” – Caro Burberry MRBS
